(equipment required: 1m target ring, 2 x 50cms regulation throwing circles, 1 target boule, 3 obstacle boules (700/74), 1 jack, clipboard and writer, player’s own boules to throw.)
RULES
4 boules thrown at each scenario: 2 from 7metres and 2 from 8metres (as measured from inside edge of rings). 20 deliveries in total.
Both feet completely inside circle and (at least partially) touching ground until thrown boule lands.
Thrown boule must land inside 1 metre target ring.
POINTS AWARDED FOR EACH DELIVERY AS FOLLOWS:
5 – Target cleanly struck first and completely leaves ring without any obstacle disturbed before or after contact. Thrown boule remains inside ring. (a “carreau”)
4 – Target struck first completely leaving ring without any obstacle being disturbed before or after. Thrown boule also leaves ring. (an effective shot)
3 – Target struck first, visibly moves from its position but remains inside ring. No obstacle hit before or after by any boule. Thrown boule remains inside ring. (a carreau but an ineffective shot with target not completely cleared)
2 – Target struck first, moved from its spot but remains inside ring. Thrown boule leaves ring. Obstacle struck by thrown boule, target or another obstacle boule after any hit. (an ineffective shot with target not sufficiently cleared)
1 – Target struck first but so slightly that it doesn’t visibly move from its spot. Obstacle(s) may be hit after initial strike. (an ineffective touch)
0 – Obstacle struck first before target. No touch at all on target. (poor shot)
*Scenario 5: 5 points when jack leaves ring, 3 pts for visibly moving from spot without obstacle being hit, 1 point for slight touch but not moved.
