2025/26 Winter Doubles
GWR members are invited to form teams of two or more people to enter into this season’s winter doubles league.
There will be matches running (roughly fortnightly but with exceptions) from 26 October through to early March 2026 with a break over the Christmas period. The mix of venues will be announced later but we plan to have a reasonable balance of matches in the east and west of our region.
The entry fee is £30 per player and the entry list will close on Sunday 12 October. The entry form will cope with a team of up to five players but If you wish to have more players in your squad, please use the additional player entry form. This same form can be used at any time in the season if you need an extra player for a specific match.
Entries will be accepted only when payment has been made and all payments must be made by Faster Payments Transfer to the credit of the bank account show below -

quoting the team captain’s name. You can register additional players at any time (as described above), paying an additional fee (£6 per match or £30 for all remaining matches).
The league is limited to 30 teams organised in groups of three as in previous years. Any additional entrants will be notified and put on a reserve list. Groups of teams will play each other on Sundays from 26 October with a break for Christmas, so that’s three games in a match.
The dates for this year’s fixtures (tbc) are:
In 2025: 26 October, 2 November, 16 November, 30 November, 14 December
In 2026: 11 January, 25 January, 8 February, 22 February, 8 March
Venues and finalised will be confirmed once the entry list has closed.
We expect and require all teams to play all of their matches but we recognise some teams may struggle to play on every date. We will allow groups of teams to arrange to play their opposing group on a mutually agreed alternative date and venue – please let me know nearer the time if any of you intend to do this.
